Fueled by increased farm machinery sales in several corners of the world, Deere & Co.’s profits rose 16 percent in the second quarter. In its earning report released Wednesday, the Moline-based Deere announced it posted a net income of $547.5 million, or $1.28 per share, for the second quarter, which ended April 30. That is up from $472.3 million, or $1.11 per share, for the same period a year ago.
